Spring season coming soon...
Registration of teams for Spring Season happens in February. It is coordinated by coaches.
Historically we have had a strong spring turnout with more than half our teams choosing to play. It is inexpensive and offers a great way for the kids to re-acquaint themselves with nature after winter's fierce blast is done. The season consists of seven games in six weekends between spring break and Mother's Day. Most teams do not practice, fields being almost entirely assigned to baseball in the spring.
If you want to play, contact your coach. A registered player who wants to play on a team that doesn't plan to play should contact the club registrar. A spot on another team is likely. Teams can combine for spring season. Sometimes this is necessary in order to have enough players. This must be coordinated through the club registrar. New players are generally welcome, though a spot on a team cannot be guaranteed. Players who are new to the club must register through the club registrar.
Money: Teams pay a team fee for the spring season, divided equally among the players. Typically the team parent will coordinate the collecting of this money. Payment due date is on the PYSA web site. In addition, players who are new to the club pay a registration fee to Mount Tabor Soccer Club. We do not take a slice of this, but pass it through to PYSA. It funds insurance and PYSA program development. Players who were registered last fall have already paid this yearly fee.
No unregistered players: Player cards are required U9 and up to ensure this. Referees enforce the rule at matches. Coaches enforce it for U8, U7 and Kick & Chase. Soccer is a physical sport with hazards. It is unacceptable for a coach to knowingly or unknowingly permit unregistered players to practice or play in Mount Tabor Soccer Club team activities. If you are a coach, you are required to know your roster and enforce it.
Older teams should watch for a chance to register for the State Games of Oregon tournament on (typically) the first weekend in June. This is a terrific tournament!
