Your schedule is on the PYSA website now. Click "Fall League".
- First graders are U7, and so on, up to 8th graders, who are U14.
- Mount Tabor U7 and U8 teams are generally categorized as boys teams. We run these co-ed and a team with one boy is a boys team.
- For U9 to U14 boys are on boys teams and with a few exceptions (you know who you are) girls are on all-girl teams.
- U9 - U14 you only have a schedule for the first few games. The others will be based on the results of the first few in an effort to balance the level of competition.
Changes. Match schedules are subject to change, with very short notice. Grass fields are fragile in extremely wet weather and matches will sometimes be canceled, rescheduled, or moved so as to rest a field or to avoid damage. Changes are posted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday for the following day. The coach or team parent should review the match time and location Friday evening and communicate any changes to the team.
Arrival time. Schedules list kickoff time. If you have your player there by kickoff time, you're late!! Important things happen before kickoff. Your coach will tell you how far PRIOR TO kickoff your player needs to be there for warming up, getting organized, checking in with the referee, etc. 30 minutes is typical.
Avoiding surprises. Coaches, it is your job to phone the opposing coach before every match. This gives you an opportunity to clarify the location of the match and confirm any details which might be unclear or interesting. Who is bringing nets and corner flags? Is Duniway by the downtown YMCA or deep in Eastmoreland? Will the two teams have very different numbers of players? You (and you alone) will have in your possession a schedule that has opposing coaches' phone numbers on it. This is a valuable document and should be kept safe and used weekly!
Weather. Soccer is an all weather sport. Rain, snow, sleet, and wind are normal.
