Rostering Guidelines

These are the guidelines used by the Mt Tabor Soccer Club Registrar when organizing teams:

  • Players are assigned to teams based on grade level first (unless otherwise directed), followed by player preferences specified during registration such as team, teammates, and coach, returning player status, and PYSA guidelines for team sizes/ratios.*

    *In the event player interest exceeds team capacity, the Registrar will use registration time and date information to determine which player(s) need to be assigned to a different team.

  • MTTSC cannot guarantee [all] player preferences can be accommodated.

  • Teams are not built to align exclusively with specific schools and may have a mix of students from a variety of schools. 

  • Player Minimums and Maximums are governed by PYSA and are in place to ensure each player has equal field time during games. These limits are firm. We cannot add players beyond the maximums or otherwise make exceptions about team size. Please do not ask.

  • Returning players have priority placement status (only up until the registration cutoff date)
    • For Fall registration: Players returning from the previous Fall season have priority over returning Spring players (up until the cutoff date). After the cutoff date players may be assigned to another team. 
    • For Spring registration: Players returning from the Fall season have priority over returning Spring players (up until the cutoff date).  After the cutoff date players may be assigned to another team.
  • Team rosters are at the discretion of the registrar, not the coaches
